From 20 to 24 January 2027 Madrid hosts FITUR, the international tourism trade fair, at IFEMA. If you are in town for the fair and staying in the centre, dinner in La Latina is the most Madrid way to end the day: old taverns, a lively atmosphere and proper food, a short walk from Plaza Mayor.
At Txakolina Cava Baja we cook Castizo (traditional Madrid) food with a Basque touch: dishes to share, txakoli and pintxos, and house specials such as fried cocido madrileño ravioli and oxtail tacos. No rush, and no need to cross the city.
We are at Calle Cava Baja 26 (28005 Madrid), in the heart of La Latina. The nearest metro station is La Latina (line 5), and Plaza Mayor is a few minutes' walk away.
IFEMA, where FITUR takes place, is about 12 km away: the easy plan is to stop by your hotel and then head into the centre for dinner.
