The last dinner of the year deserves a table in Madrid's most traditional neighbourhood. On 31 December at Txakolina Cava Baja we serve a set menu at €55 per person: starters to share in the middle of the table, a main course of your choice for each guest, and cheesecake to finish.
It is a menu made for a relaxed dinner without long waits: everything comes out of the kitchen together, so the night belongs to your table, not to the clock.
Starters to share
Gilda (the classic anchovy, olive and pepper pintxo)
Iberian ham croquettes (2 per person)
Tomato with tuna belly (ventresca)
Spanish cheese board
Grilled queen scallop (1 per person)
Main course — one per person, to choose from:
Rib burger
Oxtail stewed in red wine
Seafood paella
Fried squid strips (rabas)
Dessert: Cheesecake
Drinks: 2 drinks per person, or 1 bottle of wine for every 4 people. Any other drinks are charged separately.
€55 per person, VAT included.
At number 26 Cava Baja, Txakolina brings together the best of the old Madrid tavern and the pintxo bars of the Basque north. The New Year's Eve menu gathers the dishes our guests order most all year round: oxtail stewed in red wine, seafood paella and freshly fried squid.
And to finish, our cheesecake — the very same one from the menu.
